Driving License Theory Exam — Germany (Preparation tips)
I am living in Germany since 2022 and being a passionate traveller, I decided to apply for a Driving license in Germany.
You will be needing a first aid course and a Theory exam clearance before you can start your practical driving lessons. I will write the tips for Driving practical exams soon.
First of all, you will have to look for a driving School. My recommendation would be to look for a Driving School near your residence so that you can save your commuting time. Secondly, you can take reviews from people who already have experienced their lessons in that particular driving school. The most important thing is to take review about the driving instructor as it matters the most.
After you find a school that you can enrol in, register yourself there and look for a theory exam date. You can not take the theory exam without being enrolled in the Driving school. You can take more details directly from the Driving School if you are looking to learn everything from scratch or if you would like to convert your Driving license from your home country. If you convert your previous driving license, you are not required to take the theory classes. Mostly, driving schools offer the theory lessons in German but you can take the exam in English.
The driving school will offer you the theory preparation material but I would recommend you to prepare your self using this app as it is cheaper.
App : Führerschein gold
Moving forward, I am just sharing my experience and tips that might be helpful for the aspirants.

Tips
(I am assuming that you would be preparing from the app that I have mentioned above)
1- In the app, before starting the practice test, go through all the questions at least once.
2- Write down all the numeric questions and answers on a paper/notebook. Writing it down will help you memorise/revise it. From the app, you can see all numeric questions grouped together.
3- You can practice the right of way questions for one whole day. There is an explanation for it in the YouTube link that I mentioned above in the resources.
4- You can practice the rule of thumb questions for one whole day. There is an explanation for it in the above youtube link.
5- You can practice the sign board questions for one whole day.
6- Use the general practice option for 2 days. Mark the questions which you think that are difficult to remember so that you can revise it later on.
7- Start practicing the test questionnaires in the app. There are 77 sets to practice. Ideally you should practice every set twice to be very well prepared but it is not mandatory. Normally, the real exam consist of questions from these sets.
8- On the day of your exam, practice the questions in which you made mistakes. (There is an option for that in the app).
9- Revise the numerical questions as guessing probability in such questions is very low.
10- Stop practicing one hour before your real exam.
By following the above steps, you will be able to prepare yourself for the theory test within one week provided that you give your full time. You can memorise all questions however if you will try to understand the concepts, it will be easier for you.
All the best!
